Welcome to the Dark Christianity Wiki. This site was created to provide an easily accessible repository for a recommended reading / viewing list for members of the Dark Christianity community of Live Journal. Over time, that purpose has expanded, and will likely continue to do so.

This is a limited edit Wiki. All who visit may feel free to contribute, edit, improve what you find here. You are required to be a registered user before editing. Once you begin editing, we hope you would tell our readers about yourself at the Author Profiles page. Don't be surprised though, if someone comes behind you and adds/changes/clarifies your new content. That's the way a Wiki works. Please do review the Editor Notes before making too many changes though.

"People place their hand on the Bible and swear to uphold the Constitution; they don't put their hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible." Jamie Raskin, American University constitutional law professor

Excerpted from the Dark Christianity profile page on Live Journal:
Dark Christianity is a place for the exploration and discussion of the right-wing theocratic elements of the Christian faith, and how these religious supremacists are actively eroding the foundations of the separation of church and state in the US. Its major focus is on Dominionist Theocracy (also known as Christian Reconstructionism) and its many variants. This is not a flame or bash board - it is meant to explore, inform, and educate people about this often stealthy and deceptive fringe of the Christian faith. All religions have their 'dark' side, their extremists and 'talibans'. The Dominionist focus is on the so-called "End Times" as well as the overt (and increasingly successful) attempt to create a mythical 'Christian America' by replacing civil law with Biblical law. This community examines these particular elements of the Christian faith, and seeks to understand the growing and very real threat that their rise to power poses to not only Christianity as a whole, but also to the US and the rest of the world.

Dark Christianity was created in 2003 by Sunfell, who started it on a whim as a place to talk about the religious right. In the years since the community was created, its registered subscriber population has grown from a small handful to over 1400 people. And uniquely for a site like this, the readers and contributers to Dark Christianity range from staunch atheist to devout Christians, Pagans of various flavors and agnostics. This interesting mix makes for lively conversation and discussion. The site is read by many more people than subscribe, and gets quoted all over Live Journal.

See the SideBar to your left for major categories, or perform a Search and see what matches. There is also an automatically generated list of tags used on Live Journal to allow for rough sorting; names are included in this list and are also found here on the Dominionist Players page. The list of dominionist players is under construction. You can help! Just log in and help us tag up these pages for better searching capabilities.
